ROEL Match #2 and #3
I won my second match 2&1! I started to feel more comfortable with the golf course and my game was coming around. My drives were controlled which put me in good position to make birdies. My putting was decent, the super fast and sloped poana greens gave me some problems. You couldn't be too aggressive because of how fast the greens were. If you would try and die the putts in, the ball would bounce off line because of how bumpy poa is. The main factor that determined if you made putts was where you were putting from. I think one of the reasons Tiger is such a good putter is that he grew up putting on poana greens.
Match three I lost 1 down. I really played well, I made 5 birdies and had quite a few other good looks. My competitor played well also but the course gave him a few breaks. It came down to the par 5 18th hole. I was one down and coming off a near hole out on 16 the par 5 for eagle and a 6 foot birdie miss on the par 3 17th. I hit first and hit a nice fade to the right side of the fairway about 270 out. My competitor's drive hits a sprinkler head in the middle of the fairway and gets an extra 70 yards leaving him with 210 in. I lay up with 6 iron to 97 yards, my opponent hits it to 8 feet. I hit my wedge to 10 feet and we both make birdie to end the match.
Overall, it was a great experience and a great way to end the year. My swing is coming along and I am excited to start my offseason workouts.
